The official Sporting Lisbon 1996/1997 jersey: the return of the Stromp kit
After five years in which Adidas supplied Sporting Lisbon with classic home jerseys, Adidas managed to make one of the home kits that least respected the traditional Club colours. It eliminated the green white hoops from the sleeves, in order to make its own Adidas three stripes more visible.
The away jersey was again the mythical Stromp kit, which has a classs that no supplier ever manages to destroy. Completely white and totally green official away jerseys were also worn by the players, a feature that remained in the following years.
The sponsor became the private telecom company Telecel, so remaining for four seasons.
