Sporting Clube de Portugal jerseys in 2010/2011
Puma, supplier of the Sporting Lisbon football shirt since 2006/07, continued to innovate in this season, presenting in 2010 2011 a new jersey that was different but pretty. The novel decorative elements introduced lead to a modern kit but not too modern: particularly when worn, and although there are still white rectangles at the front instead of actual full-circle hoops, the new Sporting jersey fit the players very well inside the soccer pitch.
The away shirt became an instant classic, very well received by the fans. The lion in the right shoulder becomes more visible with sweat in the fabric. The Stromp (third) shirt has at the bottom of the back side a large band all in green, not split in white/green as the regular Stromp shirts normally do. In any case, it was also very well received.
The sponsor continued to be tmn with its blue rectangle, which led to some complaints from the supporters. In the new away shirt the sponsorship was usually taken by meo. In the last game of the season, the home jersey was worn by the layers with UZO sponsor, a brand that also belongs to the PT group, like the other ones mentioned.
One must stress that Sporting Lisbon, uniquely in Portugal, continued to sell the new shirts without the sponsor, but only in the short sleeve version. The long sleeved sponsorless home jersey shown is a one-off, possibly unique.
