Scotland football and rugby shirts - green white hoops

This page shows shirts from Scottish teams that also have the green white hoops or stripes, or that are similar to the Stromp shirt (one side green, one side white). There are football clubs represented, but also other sports such as rugby. The most famous of these clubs, and also one that is as identified with the green white hoops as Sporting Lisbon, is Celtic Glasgow. There are however other teams in Scotland with the same celtic kit.

There are many other Scottish clubs that wear the hoops that are not shown here, either because I have been unable to find one of their shirts (or good quality photos if someone is kind enough to send me), or because I never heard about them.

In fact, there are probably many more teams in Europe that wear the green white hoops! If you know any, let me know! But first check the English teams section, as well as the continental European teams section. And see the links above for American, African, Asian and Australian green white hooped kits!

You can also see, in their dedicated sections, some Sporting Lisbon old shirts, mostly match worn, as well as the new Sporting Lisbon shirt.

Something special: Celtic Football Club

Sporting Clube de Portugal supporters love to love Celtic Glasgow, and Celtic shirts are often seen at Alvalade. It was in Lisbon that Celtic won the 1966/67 European Cup, and of course, Celtic is the most famous club outside Lisbon that also wears the green white hooped jersey. And "There's only one Jorge Cadete, he puts the ball in the netty, He's Portuguese and he scores with ease, walking in Cadete wonderland". In 2006, a visiting professor who knew I collect Sporting-like shirts, brought me a nice Celtic Glasgow home kit from Thailand.

Three special shirts: Hoops from Glasgow

It's not every day, or every year, that we get such a package in the mail box! Coming from Glasgow, Scotland, with a letter that said "This is a special edition Celtic, Champions League, shirt from the 2010-2011, 2011-2012 seasons. I hope that it is okay for size. Thanks again my friend. Yours in hoops, Daniel." It is more than just ok, it is a perfect fit, and it is a top quality beautiful shirt, with an amazing touch and feel, more comfortable than anything we can remember in Sporting. It's one side effect of this Verdebranco site - we get to know people and make friends! Thank you Daniel! Your in Greenwhite hoops, always.
And then, later, another shirt and a polo also arrived. The shirt is a beautiful away design, and shows again, for the umpteenth time, why Sporting fans admire the Celtic shirt - they are almost always absolute classics, and this one is no exception. The polio is again beautiful, with the one single issue that the T could come in a different colour :) but it is a great one anyway!
